Does site speed really affect my search rankings?
It's one of many ranking factors and rarely the deciding one. The bigger benefit is that faster pages get more enquiries. Any ranking boost is a bonus.
Can you improve my existing site, or does it need rebuilding?

What counts as good Core Web Vitals?
Google's thresholds are a Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds, an Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds, and a Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1. We aim well below those. This site loads its main content in under a second.
