Local businesses

Working with Liverpool businesses

Liverpool is a busy market online. Search for almost any trade in the city and you'll find national chains, directories and large agencies competing for the same results. Small businesses can still win here, but they need a site that's quicker, clearer and more specific than the ones around it.

That's where we focus. We keep sites fast on phones, write pages around what your customers actually search for, and make it obvious which parts of the city you cover. You deal directly with the people designing and building your site, at a fixed price agreed before we start.

Who we build for

  • Hospitality

Cafés, bars, restaurants and venues that need menus, opening hours and booking links people can find quickly on a phone.

  • Trades and home services

Electricians, plumbers, builders and cleaners who cover several neighbourhoods and want enquiries from each of them.

  • Health and wellbeing

Clinics, physios, therapists and salons, where trust and clear information decide whether someone books.

  • Professional services

Accountants, solicitors and consultants who need a credible site that explains what they do in plain English.

  • Creative and events

Studios, photographers and event businesses that need their work to look good and load fast.

  • Independent retail

Shops that want local shoppers to find them, see what they sell and know when they're open.

Local search

Getting found in Liverpool

What matters when people search for a business like yours in Liverpool.

  • Neighbourhood searches matter

People rarely search for just “Liverpool”. They search “dentist Allerton”, “café Bold Street” or “plumber West Derby”. A site that clearly names the areas you serve can rank for those searches, even against much bigger competitors.

  • Lots of visitors search on their phones

Liverpool gets a steady flow of visitors for gigs, football, shopping and weekends away. Most of them search on a phone, often on patchy mobile data, and a slow site loses them to the next result.

  • The map results are competitive

For most city searches, Google shows three businesses on a map above everything else. Getting into that group depends on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how well your website backs up your profile.

  • Directories take up a lot of space

Review sites and directories rank well for broad city searches. More specific pages, such as one service in one area, are usually where a small business can beat them.

Local SEO

Built to rank locally

Every site we build has the technical basics local search depends on.

  • Pages for your services and the areas you cover, based on what people nearby search for
  • LocalBusiness structured data, so Google can read your location, areas and hours
  • The same name, address and phone details on your site as on your Google profile
  • Fast loading on mobile, tested on a phone connection rather than office broadband
  • Search Console set up, so you can see which searches bring people to your site

Keyword research and local Google setup are included from the Professional package upward, and Premium adds Google Business Profile help. If you only want the local work done on a site you already have, see our SEO service.

Google Business Profile

For most Liverpool businesses, your Google Business Profile brings in as many enquiries as your website, and the two work best together. Google compares your profile with your site, so your name, address, phone number, services and opening hours should match exactly.

If you have a shopfront, your address and category do most of the work. If you travel to customers, you can hide your address and list the areas you cover instead, from the city centre out to Crosby or Speke.

On the Premium package we help you set up and tidy your profile. On any package, we make sure your site matches it.

How we work

Our process

You’ll know what’s happening, what it costs and what we need from you at each stage.

  1. Understand

We start by talking about your business: who your customers are, what they need to know, and what you want the site to do.

  2. Structure

We plan the pages and what goes on each one. Agreeing this before design starts saves a lot of revisions later.

  3. Design & build

We design and build together, so what you approve is what gets built.

  4. Launch & measure

We put the site live and set up Search Console and analytics. A few weeks later we check how it's performing.

Liverpool FAQ

Questions from local businesses

You're based on the Wirral. Can you work with a Liverpool business?

Yes. We're a short trip under the Mersey, so we can meet at your premises or somewhere in the city centre. If you'd prefer video calls and email, that works too. Either way, you'll deal directly with the people building your site.

Can a small business compete with the big names in Liverpool search results?

Often, yes, especially for local searches. Google weighs how close a business is to the person searching and how relevant it is, not just its size. A fast site with clear pages for each service and area, backed up by a well-kept Google Business Profile, gives you a real chance in your part of the city.

Do I need a separate page for every area of Liverpool?

Only where you have something different to say about each one. A handful of useful pages, such as the services you offer in the areas you actually cover, works better than dozens of near-identical ones. Google treats copy-and-paste area pages as spam.

We run a bar or restaurant. What does our site need?

Mostly the basics, done well: your menu as real text rather than a PDF, opening hours that match Google, a map, and a clear link to the booking system you already use. Those details are what people look for on their phone before deciding where to go.

How much does a website cost for a Liverpool business?

Our packages are £595, £995 and £1,795, each a one-off fee with VAT included. Website Care plans for hosting and upkeep are optional, from £39 a month. The pricing page lists exactly what is in each one.
